USDF Nomination for USEF Youth Sportsman's Award
The USEF Youth Sportsman's Award was designed to develop leaders in the equine industry from all breeds and disciplines. Individuals 17 or younger, as of December 1 of the current competition year, who are active members in good standing with US Equestrian and USDF are eligible to apply. Each year, USDF seeks candidates who demonstrate an ongoing commitment and dedication to both USDF and USEF through their promotion of the horse. Candidates should be accomplished equestrians, exhibit positive sportsmanship principles and serve as a role model for their peers. Applications for this award are due to the USDF by August 15.
The candidate selected as the USDF national nominee will be submitted to USEF for consideration as the overall Youth Sportsman's Award winner. The USDF national nominee will receive a complementary one-year USDF participating membership. Should the USDF winner be selected as the overall USEF Youth Sportsman's Award winner, USDF will provide a complementary five-year participating membership.
The Overall Winner of the USEF Youth Sportsman’s Award will receive a commemorative trophy, a $1,000 grant, to be paid to an educational program, and will also be nominated for the USEF Junior Equestrian of the Year Award.
